Zakary worked collaboratively throughout the consultation process to ensure our organizational needs were met, and went on to develop and deliver a presentation on intersectionalities between Indigenous education, Two-Spirit identity and traditional knowledge that could be integrated into practice by B.C. educators. Zakary's presentation has inspired SOGI 1 2 3 Summit 2022 participants to engage in meaningful conversation that connects reconciliation to educational action. Zakary approaches this work with humility, seriousness, and in a relational way that makes people feel invited into circle with them.

I had the opportunity to work with Zakary towards the end of 2021 and found the experience to be productive and rewarding. Zakary was able to seamlessly get to the core of the organization and understand how our different departments worked together towards a shared goal, then provide well-thought-out feedback on how we might improve our work with Indigenous communities. Zakary was highly professional in his ability to analyze and understand our work, and lay out practical steps for improvement. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for insights into building respectful community engagement programs working with him, and sincerely hope for the chance to do so again myself one day.
